Between May and October 2026, the Google Business Profiles of two local businesses I worked on recorded 5,112 customer actions, including 2,019 phone calls and 1,670 direction requests. One is an Edmonton car key locksmith, the other a Winchester barbershop. Below are the exact figures, what was changed on each profile, and what these numbers do and do not prove.

What did a Google Business Profile deliver for these two businesses?
Both figures come from the Performance data that Google Business Profile reports for each listing, for May to October 2026. October is a partial month in both cases.
| Business | Interactions | Calls | Direction requests | Website clicks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Edmonton Car Key (Edmonton, Canada) | 4,046 | 1,874 | 1,139 | 988 |
| Iman Barber (Winchester, UK) | 1,066 | 145 | 531 | 368 |
Iman Barber also recorded 22 chat clicks in the same period.
Edmonton Car Key: 4,046 interactions
Edmonton Car Key is a 24/7 automotive locksmith. People searching for a car key are usually in a hurry, so the profile was made complete and consistent with the new website: services, hours, phone number and website link, with the profile marked open 24 hours. Customers called 1,874 times straight from Google and asked for directions 1,139 times. The profile holds a 4.6 rating from 115 Google reviews. You can read the full Edmonton Car Key case study.
Iman Barber: 1,066 interactions
For a barbershop, most new customers start with a search like “barber near me”. The profile was optimized alongside a new website so that the two tell the same story. People asked for directions to the shop 531 times and called 145 times, which suits a business where many customers simply walk in. See the Iman Barber case study for the search results from the same period.
What do these numbers mean, and what do they not mean?
They count customer actions on Google: a call, a direction request, a website click. They do not count revenue, and I cannot tell from this data how many callers became paying customers. Two more limits matter:
- October is a partial month, so the totals will be slightly higher over a full period.
- A profile works together with the website, reviews and the business itself. These results are not the profile alone, and a different business or city could see very different numbers.
How do I find my own Business Profile numbers?
- Sign in to Google with the account that manages your Business Profile.
- Open your profile and find the Performance section. Google moves it around from time to time, so look for the page showing calls, directions and website clicks.
- Set the date range to at least six months, so a quiet or busy week does not mislead you.
- Write down calls, direction requests and website clicks, then check them again each month.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a Business Profile interaction?
An interaction is an action a person takes on your listing, such as calling you, asking for directions, clicking through to your website or tapping chat. Google reports each type separately.
Does a Business Profile bring customers on its own?
It helps, but it works best as part of a set: a clear website, accurate business details and good reviews. In both cases above the profile was updated together with a new website.
How long does a Business Profile take to show results?
There is no fixed timeline. The figures above cover six months, which is a fair window to judge a profile, because it smooths out short busy and quiet spells.
Are these numbers guaranteed revenue?
No. They describe customer actions reported by Google. They are not sales, and I do not promise the same numbers for another business.
