With me, a website for a local business starts at $1,200 for a refresh of an existing site, $2,800 for a complete build from scratch, and $4,500 for a build that includes three months of local SEO. A care plan to keep it running is $180 a month. You get one fixed number after a free 20-minute call, and it only changes if the scope changes. Below is what each price includes and how to compare quotes from anyone.

What affects the price of a website?

Four things move the number more than anything else: how many pages you need, whether the design is custom or based on a template, whether you need booking or other custom functions, and whether search engine work is part of the job. A five-page brochure site and a site with a booking system and ten service pages are different projects, even if both are called a website.

The four price bands

Plan Starting price (USD) Best for What is included
Refresh $1,200 A site that works but is not converting Redesign of the homepage and key pages, mobile-first layout, speed optimization, clear calls to action and contact form, basic on-page SEO setup, handover walkthrough
Complete build $2,800 Starting fresh, or going beyond a refresh 5 to 8 pages, full custom design, mobile-first build, technical SEO and schema markup, speed and Core Web Vitals work, contact or booking forms, training and handover
Build + Local SEO $4,500 Businesses where local search is the main channel Everything in Complete build, plus three months of local SEO, Google Business Profile optimization, GEO and AI search optimization, service and location pages, content writing and monthly reporting
Care plan $180 per month Keeping the site safe and current after launch Plugin, theme and WordPress updates, regular backups, uptime monitoring, security checks, small content and design changes, priority support by email or WhatsApp

These are starting prices. If you need something that does not fit a band, such as SEO only, a Business Profile project or a custom plugin, I put together a custom plan after the call.

How long does it take?

A complete build runs about six weeks: a 20-minute call, a plan in week one with every page mapped and the price locked, design in weeks two and three, build in weeks three to five, and launch in week six with migration, redirects, a sitemap and a recorded walkthrough. Thirty days of fixes are included after launch. If week six arrives and the site is not live because of something on my side, you do not pay the final invoice.

What to ask when you compare quotes

Whoever you hire, these five questions make quotes comparable:

  1. Is the price fixed, and what changes it? A range that grows once work starts is a warning sign.
  2. Who owns the site, the hosting account and the domain? You should be able to leave without losing anything.
  3. Is SEO included, and what does that mean? Ask for the list: page titles, speed, structured data, a sitemap.
  4. What happens after launch? Ask about fixes, updates, backups and who answers when something breaks.
  5. Can I edit it myself? A good handover includes a walkthrough of your own site, not just a login.

Hosting and the domain name are normally paid to the provider you choose, separately from the build, so ask any developer how they treat them in the quote.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost for a local business?

With me, a refresh starts at $1,200, a complete build starts at $2,800, and a build with three months of local SEO starts at $4,500. You get one fixed number after a free 20-minute call.

Why do website prices vary so much?

Price follows scope: the number of pages, custom design or a template, booking or other custom functions, and whether SEO is included. Two quotes only compare if they cover the same scope.

Is there a monthly cost after the website is built?

Not for the build itself. Many businesses add a care plan for updates, backups, monitoring and small changes, which is $180 a month with me.

Can I start with a refresh and rebuild later?

Yes. A refresh fixes the pages that matter most for the lowest price, and a full build can follow when the business is ready for it.

How do I get an exact price?

Book a free 20-minute call. I ask about your business, your current site and your goals, then give you a fixed number.
